These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which TenantCheckMate provides its document-checking service. By using this website or purchasing a Notice Check, you agree to these terms.
1. About TenantCheckMate
TenantCheckMate provides a document-checking and information service for tenants in England & Wales.
The service is operated by a housing expert.
The service does not provide legal advice or representation which could amount to a Reserved Activity.
2. Nature of the Service
When you purchase a Notice Check, you receive:
A review of the notice you upload (Section 21 / Section 8 / Section 13)
A review of your tenancy agreement (AST)
A review of your deposit protection information
A written summary of whether the notice appears valid or defective
General information about typical next steps
This service is general information only. It is not tailored legal advice, legal representation, or case management.
3. No Legal Advice
By using this service, you acknowledge that:
No legal advice is being given
No solicitor-client relationship is created
The report is a general informational review only and any advice is from past experience of the industry.
TenantCheckMate does not act for you or represent you in any legal proceedings
You should seek independent legal advice if you need formal legal advice or representation
4. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
Providing accurate and complete documents
Ensuring all uploads are legible
Providing truthful information in the questionnaire
Checking your contact details are correct
The accuracy of your report depends on the accuracy of the documents and information you provide.
5. Payment
The fee for a standard Notice Check is £90
Payment must be made in full before any work begins
Payments are processed securely via Stripe or other approved payment processors
All fees are non-refundable once work has commenced
Any additional work requested after receipt of the review will be subject to additional charges which will be quoted in advance.
6. Turnaround Time
The standard turnaround time is 5 working days after all required documents have been received.
This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Faster turnaround options may be offered where available.
7. Limitation of Liability
TenantCheckMate will exercise reasonable skill and care in reviewing your documents.
However:
The service is not legal advice but comments based on past experience in the industry.
Outcomes of possession claims cannot be guaranteed
The service cannot verify facts that are not shown in the documents
TenantCheckMate is not responsible for any actions you take (or do not take) based on the report
TenantCheckMate is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or financial losses
Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.
8. Data Protection & Confidentiality
Documents you upload are treated confidentially and handled securely.
You can read more in the Privacy Policy.
9. Amendments
TenantCheckMate may update these Terms from time to time.
The version in force at the time of your payment applies to your purchase.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
